HISTORY OF THE MUSTANG IN VENEZUELA |
Within Venezuelan automotive history, year 1962 occupies an outstanding seat of honor, since the 27 of October Ford inaugurates its automobile plant in the recently
created Industrial Zone in Valencia, the capital of Carabobo.
In those days the first FORD was assembled in Venezuela.
That was the Falcon, a vehicle that by then revolutionized the automotive industry with its advanced concepts.

| 1963 |
The residents of Carabobo went to FORD to see as the
vehicles made. This second year a new vehicle is sent to the market,
the unforgettable Ford Cortina, and the first Pick-up trucks made.

| 1964 |
| In 1964, Ford was a plant
that produced 40 vehicles daily. A great variety of models existed. Ford made units between the Galaxie, Falcon, Fairlane, Cortina and its line of commercial vehicles and Pick-ups, F-100/150 and Camiones 350/600/750. |
| 1965 |
This Ford year continued such offering successful models of the previous
year: Galaxie, Falcon, Fairlane and Cortina. 11,550 units took place altogether, including Pick-ups or Trucks that already had a long history in Venezuela. |

| 1966 |
In 1966, Ford introduces to
the Venezuelan market two vehicles that make history in the automotive
industry: the LTD and the MUSTANG. The LTD with power windows, vinyl roof and air conditioning. The MUSTANG, the supersport one par excellence, revolutionized the American automotive industry because it represented a totally different concept. Before a car had
never had impact on the consuming public. In Venezuela that
first year made 232 units that "flew" from the sales showrooms. |

| 1967 |
In the plant of Valencia the production
of unit 50,000 "Made in Venezuela" is
celebrated jubilantly, a Ford Cortina. It
establishes the first office of spare parts from the new Warehouse of Spare Parts and Accessories. This Ford year obtains the first place in production and sales
at national level. |

| 1968 |
For the second consecutive year, Ford occupies the first place in sales in the
Venezuelan market automotríz, as much of vehicles of passengers as
commercial. |

| 1969 |
It closes one decade of the Venezuelan industry
automotríz. Lideriza Ford the market with a total production
of 18,440 units. Ford sends to the market the Maverick.
This year leaves the last production the Falcon and they are
continued producing the models Fairlane, MUSTANG,
Cortina and LTD. |

| 1970 |
The beginning of the
Seventies prints a course defined to the industry
automotríz.
That year in addition to pick-ups and trucks, Maverick,
MUSTANG ,Cortina, Ltd
and Fairlane take place, that dispute the first place of sales to
national level.

| 1971 |
With a production of 20,890 units, the Ford
models presented/displayed the Ltd, the Fairlane, the Maverick, the
Cortina and the MUSTANG.....
or a myth like sport of luxury, that presented/displayed so many optional accessories
as it wished the buyer, came with a powerful motor 8 cylinders,
automatic or synchronous transmission of 3 speeds, in their 2 versions "Hatchback" or "Fastback" |

| 1972 |
That Ford year
makes great investments
in training and
machinery. The 10th Anniversary of the inauguration of the plant of
Valencia is celebrated. That year leaves unit no. 150,000. |

| 1973 |
The Fairlane appears; and the Maverick
every time has greater sales. Seproducen you complete units of
the Cortina and the MUSTANG discontinues
temporarily. |

| 1974 - 1980 |
| Ford competes in the market with models of
automobiles like Ltd, Fairlane, Maverick,
Fairmont, Galaxie. In 1979 it sends to the
market the Zephyr and the Future one and presents/displays the Ltd
Landau with his V-8 motor of 5 liters. MUSTANG
units are not produced. |
| 1981 |
Ford again presents/displays to the Venezuelan
market
the MUSTANG, sport par
excellence, that returns successful adapting perfectly to the characteristics of the local
market by their compact size and efficient motor of 6 cylinders, with
a rational use of the fuel. |

| 1982 |
A determining year
for Ford
Venezuela, sends to the market two new models: Granada and the Del Rey. Ford Venezuela celebrates its 20th Anniversary |

| 1983 |
This year receives the "Order to the Industrial Merit", for its determining role in the development of the Venezuelan automotive industry, like generating company use and creating invaluable institutional campaigns. |

| 1984 |
Ford world-wide celebrates 20 years of the
MUSTANG, with more than 5 million units produced in the world. Ford offers to the Venezuelan public the "20th Anniversary Special Edition" of the "Purasangre" |
